Rising 9th Grade Registration Timeline
January 14, 2025: Registration Begins
- Language Arts, Math, and Science teachers complete recommendations for the next course.
January 15, 2025: Rising Longhorn Parent Night
- Parents have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions to learn about topics including: registration/scheduling, academic rigor, advanced placement courses, college and career readiness, supporting a freshman student at home, core course information, career and technical education pathways, fine arts, and how to get students involved in high school clubs and activities.
January 30, 2025: 8th Grade Visit to Lanier High School
- 8th graders will visit LHS during the school day and learn about the high school schedule, elective options, how to get involved, and student expectations. Students will also take a tour of the campus.
February 4-6, 2025: Advisement Lesson: Choosing Your Electives for High School
- Students will complete an advisement lesson on choosing their high school electives. Students will pick three electives for next year, and also choose three alternate elective selections.
February 12, 2025, Elective Registration Closes
March 31-April 3, 2025: FINAL COURSE VERIFICATION FOR STUDENTS
- Students will receive a final course request profile.
- Students/Parents may request any FINAL changes to the student course requests for the 25-26 school year.
- Parent/Guardian must sign the course request profile.
- Students must return the course request profile no later than April 3, 2025
- ONCE THE STUDENT COURSE REQUEST PROFILE IS COMPLETED, THERE ARE NO MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO REQUEST A CHANGE. STAFFING AND SCHEDULING DECISIONS WILL BE BASED UPON REGISTRATION SELECTIONS.
