School Social Work Services

School social workers are trained professionals who serve as a link between the home, school, and community to support teaching and learning, so students remain in school, graduate, and reach their fullest academic potential, and grow socially and emotionally. GCPS school social workers utilize a tiered intervention approach to remove barriers that hinder student performance by collaborating with school staff and community organizations; referring students and families to community agencies for economic, medical, and behavioral health resources; providing crisis intervention, and facilitating student check-ins.

Dionne Williams supports 9th grade on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Natasha Brown supports 10th grade on Mondays and Fridays while both social workers collaborate together along with the counseling department and administrative team to support all grade-level students.

*Note that both social workers support 11th and 12th grade as available.
