2025-2026 Lanier High School Credit Recovery
General Info
- Credit Recovery is available to students who failed a class required for a diploma.
- Each course is $50 and students must complete the course within the 4-week timespan (1 month).
- Students can complete coursework at home to progress through the course(s); they are self-paced.
- Final exams for the course(s) must be taken with a teacher during Longhorn Time on Tuesdays.
- Students who do not complete their credit recovery course by the end of the 4 weeks will need to register for the next month's session and pay an additional $50 in order to continue working on the course.
- Note: Credit recovery courses are not honored by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
How to Register
- The cost is $50 per class. Sessions run from the 1st of the month to the last day of the month.
- If you miss the registration window, you will have to sign up for the next session.

Registration Steps:
Register on MyPaymentsPlus and Georgia Virtual School by following the steps below:
- After logging into MyPaymentsPlus, go to: Events and Activities > Community School > Lanier Community School > LHS Credit Recovery.
- If you do not already have a credit recovery account, create one on the Georgia Virtual School website.
- Click "Register" and create your account.
- Parents and students need to view this short video which explains how to use the website.
- Email Ms. Guttinger once you have created the account at Robin.Guttinger@gcpsk12.org
- Ms. Guttinger will register you for the course you need prior to the first day of the minimester.
- After all post-tests are completed, email Ms. Guttinger to sign up for the final exam.
Credit Recovery Course Structure
- Pre-tests: Pass with an 85% or higher to skip learning activities.
- Learning Activities: Complete readings, videos, quizzes, etc. Language arts classes have a required essay that must be submitted before completion of post-tests and access to the final exam. Essays can only be attempted once. Do not use AI or plagiarize - you will receive a grade of zero which can result in failing the course.
- Post-tests (80% of your final grade): Pass with a 70% or higher to proceed to the next unit. You will be able to retake the post-tests as many times as needed to pass.
- Final exam (20% of your final grade): Must complete with a teacher after scoring passing grades on all post-tests. Note: The final exam can only be taken one time. There are no second attempts on finals.
- After completing the final, email Ms. Guttinger.

EOC courses (Biology, 10th Grade Language Arts, U.S. History, and Algebra) must take the EOC to complete the full year class or 2nd semester. EOCs will be completed during specific times of the year with a teacher during the school day.
